Is Kenmore on the Brink of a Massive Peacock Infestation?

Out on a walk a few days ago I spotted this beauty just chilling on a fence in somebody’s front yard on 80th Ave:

Then I noticed this story out of Bellingham: ‘Wild’ peacocks becoming a common sight in Whatcom County
The Whatcom Humane Society has received at least two calls a week for the past three months from people reporting peacock sightings all over the county, said Krista Unser, manager of animal care and services.
That’s one infestation I don’t think I would mind. Peacocks are pretty cool birds, in this blogger’s opinion.
What surprised me was to see the above-pictured dude hanging out so close to a street as busy as 80th Ave. I wonder how long it has lived around there? It was pretty obviously not contained in any way, but perhaps is it somebody’s pet?
Herons, crows, and peacocks—living together in harmony here in Kenmore.
